Plain terms for using this site. Using it means you're okay with them.
This site is operated by The Contractor Playbook, a sole proprietorship, contactable at hello@contractorplaybookpro.com.
The bid calculator produces estimates based on national averages. Swell factors, truck capacities, equipment rates, clearing costs and septic component prices vary enormously by region, by soil, by season, and by who you buy from.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is transmitted or stored.
Everything here is general business information for contractors, written from experience. It is not legal, tax, accounting, insurance or engineering advice, and reading it doesn't make me your lawyer or your accountant. Rules on worker classification, licensing, liens, insurance and taxes differ by state and change over time. Before you act on anything here that carries real consequences, talk to a professional who knows your situation and your jurisdiction.
Some outbound links earn me a commission. It costs you nothing extra and doesn't change what I recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
If you email me or fill in a form, you keep ownership of what you send. You're giving me permission to use it to respond to you. If I ever want to quote you publicly, I'll ask first.
The articles, the calculator and the downloads are mine. You're welcome to read them, use them in your own business, print them, and put the checklist in your truck. Don't republish them as your own or resell them.
If you hire me to build a website, that work is governed by the separate written agreement we sign — not by this page. Where the two disagree, the signed agreement wins.
I try to keep the site up and the information current. I don't promise either. Things go offline and information goes stale.
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this site or the calculator. Some states don't allow certain limitations, in which case they don't apply to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules.
These terms may change. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top.
